Friday DT Showcase

Happy Friday! Here's some great projects from our DTs, Melissa, Karen and Kim=)

Melissa

"I used the candy cane image from the Merry set and colored it with Copic Markers.  I added some extra snow, some fun background paper, ribbon, stitches... and the end result is a pretty little Christmas tag!  So easy to create and it says so much because it was made by hand!  I hope you are starting your holiday tags, you will be needing them before you know it."

"I chose this adorable image to use for this birthday card. I colored in the image then cut out the ovals. I used 3-D foam tape to pop up the image for some dimension. I freehand the banner then added the sentiment at the bottom. Last is the bow and brad to pull all the colors together."

Hope you Love them as much as we do!

"Well, Christmas is just one month away…  did you start your Christmas cards or shopping yet?  if not, how about a Christmas card to jump start your holiday spirit?  I used Candace from the Autumn Memory set, I colored her with the lovely holiday red, cut her out and adhered her with foam dots.  Then, finished with a sentiment and some blings."

Friday DT Showcase

Happy Friday! Here's some great projects from our DTs, Melissa, Karen and Kim=)

Melissa

"I really love what this saying and I new I wanted to incorporate it into a card.  I found the perfect stamp, using this Christmas tree from Chi Chi Memories digital stamp set MerryYou can see that I paper pieced it, and I did do a double paper border behind the paper piecing, one in cream and one is teal.  I love the end product!"

"Today, I decided to use the cute cake image from the "Party Time" set.  I love this image because it is a great embellishment to use with other stamps in the set, but it is also detailed enough to use on it's own.  I printed the image at 7.5cm in height and then coloured it up with Copics.  I also decided to add a bit of texture by adding adhesive pearls right onto the cake.  I think this is a create image to celebrate a birthdays for people of all ages!"

Hope you Love them as much as we do!

"It's only natural that my slice of cake had to be chocolate with a little chunky peanut butter filling. I am a certified chocolate addict. I really like the yummy desserts along with the other images that are available in November's new release Baking Fun!"

"This is Candace in her Thanksgiving outfit ready to serve up a delicious turkey dinner. I colored her in using Copic markers and used 3-D foam tape to pop up the image. I then added brads and a button with twine for some accent. "

Tutorial Time with Karen

FullHalo-CloseupI have a confession to make.  I do not always colour in the lines!  No matter how hard I try, I almost always end up outside of the lines in at least one place when I am colouring stamped images.  So I wanted to share a little trick with you today.
For this project, I decided to use one of my favourite ChiChi Memoriesstamps called “Elephant Love” for this card!  I love the clean lines on this digi, and you can personalize it in all sorts of ways.  So I grabbed my Copics and got to it!
CCMT51Now, if you look closely, you’ll notice that there are a few places where the colour came across the lines around the edges of the stamped image.  If you are using alcohol markers, you can fix this with a colourless blender, but I like to kill two birds with one stone.  So, once I am finished colouring the image…
CCMT52
…I grab my BG11 marker and run it along the outside edge of the image – right over top of any of the marker that has “crossed the line”. This not only blends out any of that colour and draws the eye away from those spots, it also give a “halo” effect to your image and helps it to pop off of the page.
CCMT53If you are not a Copic user – the same technique can work for you – you’ll just have to experiment a bit with the colour that you like best. I like the lighter tones, and I am particularly partial to this blue green colour because I find that it is really subtle and brightens up the image and the other colours I have chosen.  You almost do not notice that it is there – which is exactly the effect I am going for!
Well, that’s it for me today!  I hope you found this little tip helpful.  Thanks for stopping by!

"For my card this week I decided to focus on this cute image.  I decided to color the girls to look like my two daughters and then found this great pattern paper that really allowed the image to shine on the card.  I just love that this image shows the relationship between the two girls."

"Who wants cupcakes?  Our adorable chef Jordy from the new Baking Fun set.  I wonder which kind of cupcake is he baking?  So, what is your favorite?  On to my card, I kept the card simple.  I colored chef Jordy with Copic markers, cut him out and adhered hime with foam dots.  And viola!"

Friday DT Showcase

Happy Friday! Here's some great projects from our DTs, Melissa, Karen and Kim=)

Melissa

"A delicious gift needs a treat box and tag to make it that more special.  That's what I decided for a cupcake I'm going to deliver to a few special friend who needs a little "pick me up".  I have to say that the tag looks very tasty, much more so that then cupcake inside.  I colored the tag using Copic markers!"

"I am so excited to share this project with you this week.  One of the things I love to do is bake and cook with my two little gals (one who is 4 and the other who is 2).  We usually make quite the mess, but I love watching them learn how to break eggs, stir, and cover their ears when the mixer is too loud.  So, when I saw this digi in the new release from ChiChi Memories, my heart melted.  I actually decided to create a card right off the bat for my oldest daughter, just to tell her how much I love these moments with her.  The words under the table are hand lettered, but because this is a digi, you could easily recreate the same effect with a different sentiment and a computer font.  I think my next project will be a little scrapbook page featuring this cutie too, but you will have to stay tuned for that one!"

"I love the versatility of the Baking Time set. This card could be used for any occasion and it's so sweet. I colored the cake in using Copic. I then used 3-d foam tape to pop up the panel. The red cardstock was embossed using a heart embossing folder and brads added to the top portion. I then added the pink flower button next to the sentiment."

Hope you Love them as much as we do!

Tuesday DT Showcase

Happy Tuesday=) Here's some cute projects from our DTs, Alice, Lynda and Kerry!

"It’s a NEW stamp set by Chi Chi Memories called, “Baking Time”. Perfect time to release this too with all the holidays coming.  I thought I do something fun today by adding a girl to the collection.  What I did was used another stamp from the freebie set called, “Hello Girl” and used her head to cover the boy in the, “Baking Time” set.  I didn’t use her braids so it looks like her hair is pulled back.  What do you think?"

"For my card this week I decided I would frame the image with one of the cute sentiments in the set.  I stretched the text to fit around the image on each side.  I colored my image with Copics and chalk.  The background was chalked to match the color of the pattern paper better. I am so happy with how this turned out and plan to try other sentiments as frames in the future!"

"Since the holidays are coming up really soon, time for some baking fun!!! Love love love this new adorable Baking Fun stamp set.  So so cute!  Totally inspire me to bake…  maybe cookies, cakes, anything yummy!"

How do you like these cute cards?  Hope you like them! Have a wonderful day!

November New Release + Friday DT Showcase

Hello crafty ladies,

What do you do on your free time besides scrapbooking? How about some baking too? I'm sure a lot of us enjoys baking as mush as crafting & scrapbooking! This month's new stamps release is - Baking Time! These stamps are great for many different projects! Can you think of some?

These cute stamps are sold as a set or singles! Drop by CCM shop for more info :)

Now, let's see what our talent DTs had created with the new set:

"I love to bake and so does my daughter so I wanted to do a little decoration to put on the kitchen shelf.  I decided I had to include a window in the background to help create the atmosphere of a kitchen complete with curtains and a valance.  I think it really makes the little bakers just pop out at you.  Papers I used were scraps from my huge stash, and the girls"

Karen
"This new set from Chi Chi Memories is beyond sweet, and with the Christmas baking season around the corner, I can think of a number of different ways to use these cute stamps (but you'll have to wait to see the others) ;).  Today, I actually created a general purpose "thank-you" card with the sentiment all about being sweet to play up on the baking aspect of this set.  Use some traditional Christmas colours instead, and you would have the perfect thank-you card for the Christmas season!

 Kim
"It's time for Fall baking and this month's stamp set, Baking Fun, is just the right way to get you started. I started out by coloring and cutting out the circles for the image. I placed it on top of square matting and a silver/gray ribbon to pull everything together."

Hope you have enjoyed the new stamps! Happy scrapbooking and happy weekend!

xoxo,
Nat & Cass
