Tuesday DT Showcase

Hello hello CCM friends!
We are super excited!!!
Not only we are sharing some super adorable projects with you...
and yes, yes!  We will be showing you a little peak on our August release!

"For my card I decided to go with a CAS (Clean and Simple) design.  I printed the flower image from the Spring is Here onto cardstock and colored it with Copics.  I then added the piece of Washi tape to the card front and then added my fussy cut image.  I then added the rubon sentiment."

"I love sending out to friends and family, Thinking of You cards or cards just to say hello.  We all get so much junk mail now a days, it’s nice to receive something other than a bill.  The Baby Flower Set is perfect for those “Thinking of You” cards."

"Chi Chi Memories images are perfect for fun summertime cards. Jordy is diving for fun this week, where I combined two of the images from the Splash of Fun Stamp Set and colored them with my Spectrum Noir Markers. I kept this card simple to allow the bright colors of the image to pop. I layered a piece of striped paper from Simple Stories underneath, it seems the colors in the paper are a perfect match to my image. I even colored the little banner with one of my markers - I love how these markers create such vibrant colors without eating up my paper! The twine is from Stampin' Up! and the button is from my stash."

"Here’s little Jordy dressed as an insect and is adorable.  Come check out the rest of Jordy and his friends in the Costume Set by Chi Chi Memories.  You’ll use them for any occasion and for Halloween.  Check it out today!"

Here is sneak peek #1.

And here is sneak peek #2.

That's all we can show you for now, stay tune!

DT Showcase.

Hello CCM friends and happy Friday to you!

We have some super fun cards for you today!

"My oldest daughter loves getting mail!  Some days we can fool her into believing that the flyers were sent just for her, but it's even more fun to see her face when there is a card addressed just for her.  So today, I decided to team up the adorable mailman Freddie from the Sympathy Collection with some fun DCWV paper, and create a little card just to tell her how much I love her!  I love the bright primary colours together with this darling image! "

"Are you enjoying the summer so far?  So many fun things to do...  Suntan, relax, play, sleep, swim, eat, and fun!  Which one will you pick?  Well, we all know what Candace from the Splash of Fun is enjoying, hehe!"

Melissa

"Lonely on the ranch?  I think this image is adorable and even if she is missing you in this card I guarantee next time you see her on my blog she will be happy.  I decided to go with what I consider non traditional cowgirl colors and then added in some rhinestones and little buttons.   She is available as an individual stamp, Autumn Memory Girl, or in a stamp set, Autumn Memory"

"I am using this adorable bear from the Beach Time set. There are so many fun things to do with this set. Perfect for those who also scrapbook.  I colored the bear and created some highlights by using a Copic blender marker, it's then fussy cut and adhered to the white cardstock using 3-D foam tape. The waves are added using a border punch and some dew drops to tie everything together."

"This week I chose to use Sunny Girl for my card. She is SO adorable and also comes in the set Sunny Day. I colored her with ProMarkers. I kept my card base neutral and then used some fun soft colored papers to go with her clothing and umbrella. I added a simple "celebrate" sticker which makes this card perfect for multiple occasions."

Well, what do you think?  Hope you like them!

DT Showcase

Hello and happy Tuesday!  Hope you are having a great week!

We have some super cute CCM creations for you today!

"You’ll love the digital sets from Chi Chi Memories especially when you can change the size of your images.  It’s super easy and helps when you are creating size and design.  Get your images today before the next stamp set is release in August.  Beach Time is the stamp for your July creations!"

"I knew when I printed this cute bear that I wanted to make sure that he really stood out on my card.  I printed the image twice onto cardstock.  I colored both images using my Copic markers.  I then created the background using chalks; keeping the colors soft and subtle.  I then cut out the top arm and ear from the second image mounting them onto the base image using liquid dimensional glue.  I then layered coordinating cardstock behind my image.  I just adore this bear and think he makes a perfect image for just about every kind of card!"

"For my card this week I used Jordy dressed as a clown from the Happy Carnival Stamp Set. I colored my main image with Spectrum Noir markers, and the tickets are stamped with Tangerine Tango ink. I used paper from Best Creation Inc. called Let's Party. and paper pieced the balloons in Jordy's hand from the back side of the paper. This would make a great birthday card, thank you card, or a get well soon card for a child, so I left the inside greeting free."

Check out this adorable card by our guest DT Steph, super cute!

Friday DT Showcase

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  We hope you are ready for the weekend and before that...
How about some super cute cards?

"I just adore this bear with his beach ball, so I had to print him out an color him. I used my Prisma pencils-again:) I used a lot of paper on my card this week which is normally something I struggle with, but I think it turned out pretty cute. I die cut my image with a Spellbinders circle die and then layered it on top of other circle types also cute with Spellbinder dies. I must say, this is one of my all time favorite Chi Chi Memories images♥"

Kerry

"Howdy, I'm totally enjoying the summer, it's hot, hot, HOT!  Check out this adorable Beach Time Girl   from the Beach Time set.  Here is a simple step card, I colored Beach Time girl with Copic markers and I added the waves, twine, ocean theme washi tape, and a couple of brads."

Melissa

"Most everyone likes a cupcake and with this one there is nothing not to like, no calories and extremely sweet!  It is from the Birthday Girl stamp set from Chi Chi Memories!!  Naturally it had to have some strawberry icing and a glitter candle, perfect for that special birthday girl."

What do you think?  Hope you like them and happy weekend!

Another awesome tutorial by Karen.

It tutorial time for Chi Chi Memories today, so I thought I would share a great fun fold for you to consider on your next card. Side step cards are great when you want to play around with multiple tamped images and sentiments. This is perfect for digi sets like the one I used for my card called "Spring is here".

CCMT2-full

CCMT2-angled

You can see from the side that there are three folds and create step effect on the one side of the card. Sometimes i use this space for the sentiment, but I thought it was perfect for adding the sun in the background on this card. This is a standard 4 1/4" by 51/2" card when finished, so you can still use a standard envelope. Here's how you can create one in under 5 minutes!

CCMT2-closeup
Materials:
  • cardstock for base
  • craft knife
  • scoring board and bone folder (not necessary, but will make the project much easier)
  • straight edge ruler
  • For embellishments - stamps (like this cutie from ChiChi Memories), patterned paper
  • Optional - other fun embellishments like Trendy Twine of some rhinestones
Step 1

CCMT21

Cut a piece of cardstock 8 1/2" X 5 1/2".

Step 2

CCMT23

Place your card on your scoring board with the longest edge running across the top. Place your straight edge across the 3" mark. Score down to your straight edge at the 2 1/4" mark, the 4 1/4" mark, 5 1/2" mark, 6 1/2" mark and 7 1/4" mark.

Step 3

CCMT24

Using a craft knife cut along your straight edge starting at the 2 1/4" score line you made, and ending at the 7 1/4" score line.

Step 4

CCMT22

Extend the 4 1/4" score line all the way to the other side and fold your card in half (or you can do what I usually do, and just fold it in half without the score line...I know, I know, it's not as precise, but it still works)!

Step 5

CCMT25

Starting with the 7 1/4" score line, create a mountain fold by folding the paper back on itself at this score line. At the next score line, create a valley fold. Continue with the rest of the folds. Place your card down and run your bone folder along all of your creases to get them nice and compact and crisp.

Step 6

CCMT2-dimension

Embellish!

It really is that easy! Once you get comfortable with the folds, you can also play around with the dimensions to get wider and narrower spaces for stamps and sentiments!
Thanks for stopping by, and go give it a try!

Tuesday DT Showcase.

Hello CCM friends and happy Tuesday!
We hope you enjoyed all the beautiful creations from our guest DT yesterday.
And here are some more fun creations from our regular designers!

"Birthday Boy from the Chi Chi Memories Birthday Boy Bundle is perfect for those little boys in your life.  It’s so hard for me  to know what little boys are into year to year so this image is just perfect for a generic boy birthday. The entire set is just adorable."

"For my card this week I used the flower cart from Specially For You. I colored the image using Spectrum Noir markers from the Brights Set. I used the following color combinations: CR9, DR2, DR4 for the wagon, GT2, LG5, JG2 for the leaves and stems, and GB6, GB7, and a Blender Pen for the Sunflowers. The papers used on this card are Bazzill Kraft, Jillibean Soup's Christmas Eve Chowder, and Crate Paper Snow Day Collection. The button and flower are from my stash. Have a great week!"

"I decided for my project this week that I wanted Jordy to be showing off some bright summer colors.  I decided to use the colors from the Noteable collection by My Minds Eye as my inspiration..this wonderful rich blue on the pattern paper was the perfect color to coordinate with the fabulous sunshine pattern on his surfboard.  I think he looks like he's ready to hit some waves after stopping by to wish you "hello"...don't you?"

"Here’s another card made with the Beach Time digital set.  After all , it’s July and that means the beach! I popped my image out from under the polaroid die cut to give the appearance that the image is coming to life.  You’ll enjoy these charming images so get yours today!"

Hope you like them and please stop by tomorrow...

It's TUTORIAL DAY with Karen!!!

Friday DT Showcase.

Hello CCM friends and TGIF!

We are sharing a bunch of fun creations today using the single digital stamps

"Woohoo! Another beach excursion with Chi Chi Memories and their latest stamp release Beach Time.  I love his bathing outfit and I new it had to be red and white, so I based my other colors off of that.  I used some older Cosmo Cricket goodies and decided that little thermometer from my stash would be great with it."

"This week I kept things really clean and simple-totally my style. I printed the image and sentiment directly onto CC Designs Copic Quality 80lb White Cardstock. I colored the image with Prisma pencils and popped up the sentiment on some dimensionals."

"I hope you are enjoying the sun as much as Jordy, aka Beach Time Boy ...  I decided to pair him with the umbrella from the Beach Time set.   So so fun.  I kept the layout simple and use some bright summer colors.  I colored the image with Copic markers and I printed out Jordy twice (Jordy & his surf board and the surf board), then popped up with foam dots to create some dimensions."

"One of the things I love about digi stamps is that you can print them at any size.  For me, this is a bonus because I can use them on all sorts of projects - even scrapbook layouts!  For this 12X12 layout, I ended up printing and colouring the digis to match a beach themed layout I was working on.  I even ended up using the sentiment file as a title for the layout!  I just love how the stamps help tell the story of this memory!"

Tuesday DT Showcase.

Hello CCM friends and happy Tuesday to you!
We hope that you enjoyed our guest DT projects yesterday and we have some more goodies for you.

"Are you ready for some summer days at the beach? I have been having a "wicked blast" with these images from the Beach Time stamp set. This week I used the surfer boy from the set colored in fun shades of blue and green, with a bit of summer orange for my color scheme. I colored the image using Spectrum Noir Markers, and couldn't resist creating a little beach sign on the side with a free download I found at Simple Stories. It reminds me of the beach side signs on Cape Cod! The little brad in the corner is also from Simple Stories, and the papers are from Jillibean Soup and Stampin' Up!"

"For my project this week I decided to create a canvas.  This canvas is 5x7.  I first merged images from the Beach Time set and the sun from Spring Is Here.  I then printed the images onto heavy cardstock.  I then mod podged the image onto the canvas and let it dry.  I then used Gelatos and Faber Castell watercolor pencils to color in my scene.  I then put a think layer of Mod Podge over the top to seal the image.  I then used a black Permaball marker to go over the lines of the stamped images to make them stand out...adding some little doodles and dashes here and there...  I can't wait to give this canvas as a gift!!"

"I’m just loving this NEW release from Chi Chi Memories Beach Time this month.  These adorable little images are just so darn cute to work with and perfect for this time of year.  The images are super easy to color or paper piece too!"

I used elements from the Spring is here set to create my 1st stair step card.  I love trying new things and I knew these cute little elements would help me build a scene for the card design.

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!
xoxo
